DENTISTRY

Reconstruction of carious and damaged teeth

A direct composite filling is the most suitable form of therapy for small damages. In case of teeth with more substantial damage, we reconstruct them with ceramic inlays, partial coronas or coronas. Depending on the situation, reconstruction is done via CAD/CAM procedure or at the dental-technical laboratory.

Cosmetic dentistry

This term describes various treatments aiming at improving aesthetics.

Examples:
- Veneers
- All-ceramic coronas
- Rehabilitation of abrasive and erosive dentition
- Bleaching
- Replacement of amalgam fillings
- Replacement of old dentures
- Soft tissue surgery
- Teeth-coloured composite fillings
- Dental cleaning etc

CAD/CAM technology (cerec)

CAD/CAM technology which has been applied in other classical sectors of industry for a long time, has found its way into the dental world over the past few years with considerable success. When CAD/CAM technology is used, first of all an optical imprint of a preparation respectively a model is produced with a camera or a scanner. By means of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) procedure, these pictures are represented on a computer screen, and future restoration is designed by the dentist with a specialized software. Eventually it will be inserted in the patient's mouth by the dentist. Afterwards the construction data will be sent to a computer-steered grinding unit via CAM procedure (Computer-Assisted Manufacturing), and the restoration will be produced fully automatically.

Chirurgical interventions

This includes surgical tooth removal, insertion of dental implants, root end surgery and periodontal chirurgical interventions etc.

For soft tissue surgery, we can mostly use CO2 laser. This is a fast and almost pain-free operation method without bleeding.

Implantology

This technique makes it possible to replace lacking roots by titanium sockets (dental implants) and to artificially reconstruct coronas or brackets for dentures on them.

In our surgery, we have been using the time-tested system of the Straumann Company (see interesting information on this subject on www.implantatstiftung.ch and www.straumann.ch).

Replacement of missing teeth

This is either a removable partial denture which can be attached to the remaining teeth in different ways. Or – and this solution is more comfortable – a firmly fixed replacement is created: via 'bridges' that are cemented on neighbouring teeth or via crowns supported by implants.

Therapy in case of muscular tensions

A large part of the population suffers from jaw, head or neck pain. This is frequently caused by excessive straining or grinding of one's teeth. The dentist knows effective therapies against these symptoms, such as explanation of causes, laser treatments, manufacturing of special anti-grinding splints etc.

Root treatments

Clearing and disinfecting followed by direct closing of the root channels is required in case of acute or chronical tooth infection on the one hand and for preliminary denture treatment on the other hand. Here we are applying the most state-of-the-art technologies. Since 2015, we have been using three-dimensional radiological representations of root anatomy (DVT).

Dental cure in schools

We are contractual partners of the school community of Wädenswil as well as the Bühl Foundation. Therefore, we perform dental prophylactic exams and necessary treatments for kindergarten pupils, school children and adolescents in our dental surgery.
